The new season of Arrested Development has been officially confirmed by ABC as returning for a seventh and final season.
The announcement came via Twitter on Thursday morning.
The series, which will be known as “Arresting” and be hosted by Jim Parsons, will be set between Season 5 and Season 6.
While it is still unknown if this will be a “season of the season” (or even a “new season”), the series has had its own “Arts and Crafts” episodes for the past few years.
While Arrested development will not be returning for Season 7, the network did say that the series is still in development for a possible eighth season.
If it comes to fruition, it will be the network’s first new season in six years.
The news comes just a day after Netflix’s Orange is the New Black: Season 3 finale, which was the first in a new series.
The new series, created by Scott M. Gimple and Mike Schur, was renewed for a sixth season.
