The idea of designing a futuristic desert landscape seems like an impossibility for most modern architecture.
The American desert is often referred to as a wasteland and has become an urban nightmare due to its sheer size and its sheer density.
But for architect Andrew O’Connor, a native of Australia, designing the perfect American desert landscape could be the best thing that ever happened to him.
“The American desert has an amazing mix of flora and fauna, with a rich history and biodiversity that spans many different regions of the world,” O’ Connor said in a statement.
“It’s a place where we are all connected and in which we can all find peace and harmony.”
O’Connor said the desert would look like a natural desert, but instead of using artificial materials, it would use natural materials like sand.
“This is a very exciting opportunity to take an art form and create a place that feels as natural as it possibly can,” he said.
“I think the American desert will have a special place in our hearts and imaginations for decades to come.”
